Goodness Gracious!

It’s a lazy Saturday morning and the first thought I have today is to write something about God! I see people all around me praying, some genuinely thank Him and some bribe Him for something or someone they desire the most, as if He is a government officer! If that’s not enough by ‘God’s grace’ their wish materializes they tell everyone to go to that place and pray for what they want. Strange are God’s ways of dealing with people, sometimes I wonder if He falls for their bribes! Although I have never met these set of people, but I find them very amusing, let’s call them the ‘Bribesmen’.

These ‘Bribesmen’ comprise of people from both sections of the society, the classes and masses. I don’t blame the masses but the classes surprise me all the time! The classes are born with a silver spoon and are gifted with almost every other metal one could ask for in their lives, they still crave for more! They go to every temple, they pray, they give away a lot in charity, they perform pujas and ‘shantis’ for their well being, hoping to please God and eventually get what they want! And if God does not give in to their demands, they blame Him for not paying heed! Idiots, did He ever ask you to put so much of your efforts in these things in the first place? Had you put those efforts in moving an inch closer to what you want, you could have reached there by now!Just as the old saying goes, God helps those, who help themselves!
God created us and gifted us with the power to create our destiny by giving us this amazing organ called brain, and a conscience that can help you choose the right from wrong. Do we still need to make a genie out of God?

  1. I agree that people should not bribe God. Its the most pathetic way of showing your arrogance.. How can a man.. a speck of dust in the big scheam of universe bribe the one who we believe have created it?
    it shows mental bankruptcy...
but then thats how man has ever been! abusing everything thats given to him instead of using it wisely...
Instead of being greatful and full of gratitude for what he is made capable of, he will use it in the worst way possible..
i know that what Camerlengo did in Angels and Demons was a wrong thing but the point he put forward was not entired wrong..
Science is not only evolving human race, its also on its way to push it as far from God as its possible..
earlier the concepts of sin and punishment kept man away from ungodly (pun intended ;)) deeds but now that man thinks himself above his own creator, he is destined to be doomed...
not really a positive comment i know...but thats how i feel...
all the Tsunamis, earthquakes, tornados, floods are nothing but singnals of warning from The One Above.. if man doesnt pay heed to them, no bribe this time can save him from annihilation that would follow...

  2. Don’t tell me you have never bribed any one till now.. and who best to bribe then God!
The max he will say is No! Just imagine he says yes for that however small or big thing you asking for which is practically not at all possible. Yes! One needs to believe that certain thinks are really not possible practically.

Somehow I think you have generalized this topic, this goes well for those who are
“De re hari khatlya wari”. People who really don’t take efforts to move on in life to achieve what they what and totally depend upon what’s written in the daily horoscope to start with.

But not for the rest, I think one should always ask OR for that matter demand from God. I know the word “DEMAND” must have read very bold in you mind. But the reason I say demand is because I don’t find the opportunity for we as in (GOD and us) having a head to head chat or an argument over the request or demand we had.

But I think when we demand we feel our self more close to him and so do I.

God as definitely given us many amazing organs not that I need to mention about them but the one who communicates with God is the Heart.
